Merrist Golf Course is deemed one of Surrey's longest golf courses measuring just under 7,000 yards. When played from the back tees the golf course offers a stern challenge for the most accomplished of golfers. The forward tees also provide an excellent test for the lesser player. Water is a key hazard from both the tee and when approaching the greens. The 17th over water and the par 5 18th a fine finish to an excellent round.
Opened in 1997 the course continues to be a great venue all year round. The consistent high standards on and off the course are one of many reasons why Merrist Wood Golf Club is so popular.
The course has hosted some prestigious south region PGA events. The Surrey County Golf Union chose Merrist Wood to hold their county foursomes finals here in 2011
